St Marys rise to the challenge with a 21-0 win at Southmead.

St Marys fought fire with fire against a Southmead team aiming to get there first points of the season.
With St Marys having a depleted team due to some in season Wedding arrangements, the boys that stepped up from the seconds new it was going to be a 80min dog fight and who ever stood up to the blows would win in the end.

Fortunately it was St Marys pack that dominated the Southmead pack in every area, having demolished there scrum which in the past has been there Achilles heel it was only a matter of time before there lineout would crumble and the Marys pack showed some formidable dominance.

With the opening exchanges of penalties from both sides it was Shaun Phillips that put boot to ball and converted 3 penalties. New lads like Jordan Sheppard, Birdy Alistair Polis, Gally having massive games and enforcing their presence it was the experience of Plums on the wing that graced us with quick handling from the backs to leave the try line open for him to score in the corner.

With the old head and rejuvenated Jimmer, his forward carrying presence guided Scotty Weston, Neil Pearce and Matt Munday to put in some big performances in the forwards and backs. St Marys weren't finished after some heated exchanges with fists from the opposition Matt Madigan dummied and stepped inside then sprinted to score a try.
This left Phillips to kick the conversion and left the score line St Marys 21 and a deflated Southmead 0.

Awesome effort Lads!!!!
