St Mary's beat Paignton 20-0 after a great performance being in control of the match from start to finish. The first try came after a well worked lineout ball went to centre Laura Rugman who played out to winger Sharifa James who took it up the wing before being tackled, the forwards did good work to retain the ball and no.8 Laura Mahoney picked up from base of ruck to score. Centre Laura Rugman scored the 2nd try of the game after good work from the backs to play her into space to go 10-0 up at half time.
Lucy Bowering came on at scrum half at the break and addedspine extra urgency, she scored after a quick tap and go from Mary's 22 to go the length of the pitch and used fancy footwork to beat the full back to score under the posts. She then scored again when the number 8 Laura Mahoney went blind from a scrum and played in Lucy to score in the corner. Lisa Larsen played her first ever rugby game coming off the bench to make her debut on the wing. The only sour point of the game was when prop Kerry Diedericks had to go off with injured ankle, fingers crossed it isn't too serious!
