St Mary's scored seven tries in their first home game of the season in the blistering heat to put them on maximum points in the League.
Mary's started well with winger Laura Rugman scoring a first half hatrick out on the right wing. Flanker Laura Mahoney scored under the post just before the break and fly half Sammy Knighton converted 2 of the tries to give Mary's a solid 24-0 lead at half time.
Mary's didn't start the 2nd half as well as they had played in the first but managed to extend their lead when substitute Cate Trevorah scored on the wing. Warminster put on a bit of pressure in the 2nd half and the scored a try after turning over a Mary's scrum in their own 22 and the fly half broke away quickly to score under the posts. Mary's were disappointed to concede a try and stepped it up again and centre Lisa Yip scored her 1st try for St Mary's. Scrum half Esther Gasa playing only her 2nd game for St Mary's finished off the scoring after running blind off a ruck to score in the corner in the last play of the game.
It was Warminster's first league game having joined the league late after Trowbridge disbanded and they scrumaged very well and the return fixture in just 6 weeks time should be a much closer game.
