We were missing many players this week however with a brand new recruit and 'Crusher!' on loan from Chipping Sodbury team we managed to have enough players for a match. A slow start from our U8 boys during the first half. The Chipping Sodbury players were much more alert and quicker to respond to what was happening on the pitch. They took control to begin with and had much more possession of the ball during the first half. During the second half however St. Mary's boys fought back hard, taking control and gaining some turn over balls.

The boys showed improvement on previous weeks in their defence during the second half and during the second match. There were some great tagging performances by Eddie, Maddox and Alex slowing the opposition. Alex performed a great hop, skip & jump move past two of Chipping Sodbury players to score a try. Matthew scored a great try today in the second match from one end of the pitch to the other following a pass from Crusher. Rhys had some good runs scoring some good tries and Eddie was awarded with player of the week for his hard work and tagging in quick succession.

A special mention goes to Harrison who came up to the club to watch and ended up playing in his first ever match and scoring his first try! He had a fantastic first game and we look forward to seeing him again soon.
