| Players
Clothing
All players clothing
and protective kit must conform to current IRB (International Rugby
Board) standards. If in any doubt, please talk to your age group
coach or see the chairman.
The club will provide
the players shirts for games, these shirts remain the property of
the club.
Other St Mary's kit
such as shorts and socks can be purchased from the club shop. See
the club merchandise
page.
Most football type
boots with IRB approved aluminium studs are adequate for rugby,
as are most moulded rubber sole type boots. Many blade type boots
are banned, please check before buying such boots as regulations
are always changing. Mistakes can be very costly. Studs are available
from the club shop.
Player Safety
We take great care
to ensure that all of our players are equipped to handle the requirements
of the game.
We insist all players,
whilst traing and taking part in games, MUST
wear a Gum Shield. Gum Shields are available in the club shop.
No Gum Shield = No
Game/Training
Most Sundays we have
a match or training. As long as the coach thinks a child can play
safely, he or she will be invited to take part. Some Sunday's we
have tournaments, on these dates we are restricted to the number
of children that can participate. on these occasions, the coaching
staff will select players based on their ability and performance
during the season. |
